Based in Rome, Italy
Giulia Riva is a Rome-based blogger, writer, and content creator specializing in street art and unconventional travel. In 2011, she founded "BLocal," an independent blog that has since become a key resource and media partner for major street art festivals across Europe. Her work explores the artistic spirit of cities, documenting urban landscapes, abandoned places, and cultural sites, with a focus on street art and graffiti. This approach aligns with the "Be Local" ethos, which advocates for deeper engagement with public spaces by understanding the narratives embedded within urban art. Beyond her blog, Riva contributes to street art catalogs, art publications, and travel guidebooks and magazines. She has collaborated with museums, art galleries, and tour operators, and previously served as the Communication & Content Manager for Amsterdam's STRAAT Museum. Her recent work includes authoring "As Seen on the Streets of Paris," released in late 2024. This book combines a travel guide with an art photography collection, featuring over 250 images by Paolo Giannotti and insights from local Parisian artists. It marks the first in a planned series dedicated to major street art capitals worldwide. Riva also leads private walking tours in Rome and curates group trips to Europe's key street art hubs.
