Sorrel Downer is a British freelance journalist, editor, and producer with more than fifteen years of experience, specializing in travel, food, and drinks. Now based in Spain, she previously lived in Argentina for many years, beginning in 2006, where she cultivated deep expertise in Latin American travel and gastronomy. Her work often spotlights unique and less-traveled destinations through compelling narratives, appearing in publications including The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Times, Financial Times, Condé Nast Traveller, Monocle, Decanter, and Food & Wine. Her expertise spans diverse topics, including society, environment, architecture, rural regeneration, and conservation. As a qualified sommelier, holding WSET 3 and Court of Master Sommeliers level one introductory certificates, she also serves as the World's 50 Best Bars academy chair for South America. In 2022, Downer co-authored the book "Mil" with Peruvian chef Virgilio Martínez.
