Based in World
As a full-time travel blogger, I've traded in the conventional for a life of perpetual motion, and I wouldn't have it any other way. My journey began with a simple desire: to see the world and share it with others, especially families who dream of adventure but aren't sure where to start. With my blog, The Mom Trotter, I aim to provide budget-friendly travel tips, connect with like-minded families, and increase the representation of Black families in the travel world. In 2020, my family and I sold our home in Southern California and purchased an RV. We planned an epic, open-ended American road trip. We've traveled to over 35 states, chronicling our experiences and offering advice on homeschooling, budget travel, and finding unique experiences. From the Navajo slot canyons in Arizona to the gypsum dunes of White Sands National Monument in New Mexico, we've embraced every moment. I also co-founded Black Kids Do Travel, a resource for Black families to share their travel experiences and connect with others. It's a safe space to ask questions, share knowledge, and build a community of travelers who understand the unique perspectives and concerns of Black families. My mission is to show that travel is possible for everyone, regardless of budget or background. I want to inspire families to step outside their comfort zones, explore new places, and create lasting memories together. Through my blog and community, I hope to empower others to embrace the freedom and joy of travel.
