Based in World
As a family travel blogger, my journey began unexpectedly. It all started when I took my daughter to Antarctica at the tender age of eight. The experience was so incredible, so profoundly kid-friendly, that I felt compelled to share it with the world. I couldn't find many resources highlighting Antarctica as a family destination, and that sparked a desire to document our adventures more broadly than just on my personal Facebook page. Before I knew it, I had transitioned from an 18-year career in healthcare to full-time travel writing. My blog, Travel Babbo, became a platform to inspire families to explore beyond the typical tourist spots and discover the amazing, kid-friendly destinations that often go unnoticed. The name "Babbo" came about during a trip to Florence, a city that holds a special place in my heart since my study abroad days. The locals affectionately called me "babbo," and the nickname stuck with my kids, eventually becoming the moniker for my travel writing career. With three kids of my own, I've made it a mission to prioritize their interests and preferences when planning our trips. Each year, I let them choose a destination for a one-on-one adventure, resulting in unforgettable experiences across more than 62 countries. From paragliding into the Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman to exploring the enchanting Greek islands, we've created memories that will last a lifetime. My philosophy is simple: make every trip about the kids. After all, a kid-planned trip is always a fun trip.
