Taryn Schulz

Taryn Schulz, also known as Taz, is a diving professional and entrepreneur specializing in underwater exploration and instruction. A native of Vancouver Island, Canada, Schulz developed a deep connection with water from a young age, despite an initial apprehension about what lay beneath the surface. This personal journey of overcoming fear informs her professional philosophy: to help others conquer their own hesitations and foster a genuine connection with aquatic environments. Her expertise as a professional scuba instructor, technical diver, and cave diver enables her to guide individuals through a wide range of underwater settings. Schulz's global diving and instruction experiences, including exploring World War II shipwrecks in Truk Lagoon, eventually led her to Tulum, Mexico. In Tulum, she founded Taz Diving, an operation offering personalized diving tours within the region’s unique cenotes and the Caribbean Sea. Taz Diving caters to divers of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced enthusiasts, creating safe, enjoyable, and educational experiences. Beyond daily tours, Schulz also organizes week-long cenote diving retreats and plans to extend these offerings to other international destinations. Through engaging content on social media, particularly TikTok, Schulz shares her adventures and commitment to showcasing the beauty of aquatic exploration with a broad audience.
