His online presence expanded in 2002 with numerous travel websites, including TurkeyTravelPlanner.com, which served millions of annual visitors until its 2019 sale. His writing has appeared in *The New York Times*, *Travel & Leisure*, and *BBC World*; he has also been featured on television and radio. He also co-founded the Society of American Travel Writers' Institute for Travel Writing and Photography.
