Philipp Plato

Philipp von Plato is the Co-founder and Co-CEO of InterNations, the world's largest online network for people living and working abroad. He established the organization in 2007 with university friend Malte Zeeck, drawing on their shared experiences with the challenges of living in foreign countries. Their mission was to enhance the expatriate experience globally by fostering connections and providing valuable resources. Before launching InterNations, von Plato developed his business expertise as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising diverse global companies across Germany, the United Kingdom, and Croatia. The platform was designed as a space for individuals to network, socialize, and access trustworthy information. Under von Plato's leadership, InterNations has grown significantly, now connecting over five million members across 420 cities globally. The organization facilitates numerous online interactions and thousands of in-person events annually, helping members feel at home and build international friendships. Beyond its community-building efforts, InterNations also produces the "Expat Insider" survey, a key annual report offering insights into expat life worldwide. His work in establishing and growing this vast community directly supports global mobility and cross-cultural exchange.
