About

The official promotional body for Slovak viticulture, the Slovak National Collection of Wines annually presents the country’s top 100 wines from a historic cellar in Bratislava’s Apponyi Palace. Each selection is the result of Slovakia's principal wine competition, where a panel of sommeliers, oenologists, and Masters of Wine blind-tastes and judges entries from all six national wine regions. This rigorous process ensures the collection serves as a definitive representation of the country’s best production. Within the cellar, visitors can explore the curated list through guided tastings led by professional sommeliers – including a program that surveys 72 different wines in 100 minutes. The space also hosts private events and includes a wine shop, acting as a central hub for both enthusiasts and industry professionals. As an initiative supervised by the Slovak Union of Grape Growers and Wine Producers, the Collection’s core function is to advance the understanding and profile of Slovak wine culture globally.
